Applications are available for the South Central IL Area Future Healthcare Hero Award. This is a $500 scholarship available for those pursuing entry into any health science program. Information and application are available in the attachment below. The application deadline is February 15th.
The IL Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship is now available. This is open to seniors who are planning to attend a college or trade school. You must have a C average or better. Applications are available online. Applications must be post marked by February 28th.
The Burger King Scholars Program is now available. Seniors with at least a 2:5 GPA who plan to enroll full-time in a two or four year college, university or vocational institution are eligible. Applications must be submitted on-line by December 15th. The first 50,000 applications will be accepted.

The Amazon Student Scholarship application is available for seniors planning to enroll full time at an accredited college or university in the fall of 2016. The deadline is tomorrow. For more information and the application go to http://www.amazon.com.
The $2000 Beta Sigma Psi Lutheran Christian Leadership Award application is now ready. Applicants must be a male, confirmed member of a Lutheran congregation, and planning to enroll full time in the fall to any accredited 4-year College or University. The deadline is February 13th. The Illinois PTA Scholarship is available now through February 15, 2016, for current high school seniors at this site. Applicants must be high school seniors graduating from an Illinois public school, have a grade point average of 3.0 or above without weights, and planning to enroll in a college or university in education or education-related degree program, which may include librarians, Instructional Media Specialists, School Nurses, School Psychologists, or Social Workers. There are several AMVET Scholarships available at this time. The deadlines are March 1st. If you plan to attend college, trade or nursing school check out the available choices. There are also special scholarships for children or grand children of veterans. Apply online at www.ilamvets.org.
The Clinton County Electric Scholarship is available. This scholarship is available to students who are the sons or daughters of an electric cooperative member who resides in Illinois and is receiving service from the cooperative at the time the scholarship application is submitted. Scholarships are awarded based on grade point average, college entrance test scores, work and volunteer experience, participation in school and community activities, biographical statement and knowledge of electric cooperatives, as demonstrated by a short essay. To apply, a student must meet the required criteria and complete the scholarship application available from the local electric cooperative office. Each applicant is responsible for submitting all information required to apply for a scholarship and for returning the application to the local electric cooperative by December 31, 2015.

The John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest is now available. Click here for complete guidelines. The deadline is January 6, 2016. This is valued up to $10,000. Essays must be 700-1000 words on the given topic and must include a bibliography with 5 sources.
Exceptional student leaders are invited to apply for the 2016 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. In honor of the legacy and character of President Ronald Reagan, this program annually rewards up to 20 college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships (up to $40,000 per recipient). Applications for the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program will be accepted online until January 7, 2016. On Friday, December 11th SICCM (Southern Illinois Colligate Common Market) will be holding their annual open house day. This gives students and parents the opportunity to visit the SICCM facility in Herrin, Illinois and learn more information about the programs that KC offers through our partnership with SICCM. These programs include Surgical Technology, Occupational Therapy Assistant, and Veterinary Technology. Kaskaskia College has reserved a time slot from 10:05 am till 11:25 am on this day for any interested students to go and tour the facility. Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. KC Fine and Performing Arts Scholarships are available. This includes visual art, instrumental music, scroll newspaper, speech team and theater. These are due by June 30th. Applications are available on the KC website and in the attachments below.
The Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship is now available. Scholarship is valued at $4,000-50,000. Due Friday Dec 4th by 9:00 AM to the Centralia Elks Lodge.
