Good luck to the Varsity Football Team tonight as they play at Nashville. Sign up in the office to ride the fan bus to Nashville. The bus cost is $2 and will leave at 5:20. Underclass football players do not need to pay to ride the bus, but you do need to sign up in advance.

These students should meet with Mrs. Timmerman right after school today.
There will be a short meeting after school today in Room 16 for students interested in being a tribe leader this year.
Freshmen wishing to run for representative on student council may pick up a form in Mrs. Timmerman's room. The forms are due back no later than next Wednesday, September 3rd.
Today is the last day to purchase class shirts during lunches at the concession stand. The cost is $11, and you must pay when you order. Workers today are: 1st lunch - Ryan Gerstenecker; 2nd lunch - Erika Isaak and Kristen Eversgerd.
Guest request forms are available in the office and Mrs. Timmerman's room. All students planning on bringing a guest to homecoming who is not a CHS student must complete and return this form to Mrs. Timmerman by Tuesday, October 7th.
The PSAT Test will be given to interested juniors on the morning of October 15th. Sign up in the office if you are interested in taking the PSAT test. The cost is $15 per person. Checks should be made payable to CHS.
Students interested in joining science club are reminded to fill out the member form and return it to their science teacher. Juniors or seniors interested in running for a science club officer need to stop by Mrs. Lingley's room and fill out a form by 3:00 next Wednesday. Members will vote for science club officers next Thursday before school.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program is now available for students who have taken part in volunteer service activities over the past year. The Elks National Foundation will be offering several scholarships this school year for interested seniors. The Most Valuable Student Scholarship will be judged on grades and test scores, leadership, and financial need. This will be available Sept. 1st and the deadline is Dec. 5th at www.elks.org/enf/scholars. A 27 or higher ACT score is recommended. The Elks Legacy Awards is for children and grandchildren of Elks members. Applications will be judged on knowledge, charity, community service, and integrity. These will be available Sept. 1st and the deadline is Jan. 30th @ www.elks.org/enf/scholars.
The 2015 Abraham Lincoln Books are displayed in the library! Students are welcome to check these out. If a book is unavailable, students may request the book from another library or have their name placed on a wait list.
SIU-C will be hosting SAT/ACT preparation classes online. Part 1 covers mastering the reading, writing, English and science questions on the ACT and the new SAT. Part 2 will cover how to master the math questions on the Act and SAT. All courses consist of 12 lessons and can be accessed over the internet anytime. Each course has live instructor support and is supplemented with interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials, and online discussion.
