Kaskaskia College is partnering with the Illinois Area Health Education Center Network and Salem Township Hospital to host a free two day healthcare camp for incoming high school juniors and seniors. Highlights of the camp include information on health careers in the fields of: Surgical Technology, Nursing, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Dental, Respiratory, and many others. Spaces are limited and application is required. Check the attachment below for more information and an application.
The Better Business Bureau Student of Ethics Award Program is now available. It is valued at $2500. You must complete the entry form, a 300 word essay, and submit a transcript and letter of reference. The due date is May 30th. The IASA Scholarship is open to a CHS senior who plans to pursue a postsecondary education. A one time $250 scholarship will be given to one male and one female applicant. Preference will be given to students not already receiving scholarships. Applications must be submitted to Mrs. Branon by April 29th. Applications are in the attachments below.
The Horatio Alger Scholarship Program is open to seniors who plan to complete a career or technical program. This is a $2500 scholarship and is due June 1st. You will need to show financial need as by the FAFSA, be involved in community service activities, and display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. The 2016 SIU-E Engineering Summer Camps are now open. They are offering three one week-long residential camps this year: Session 1 is June 5-10; Session 2 is June 12-17; Session 3 is June 19-24. This program introduces various engineering disciplines, computer science and construction management to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors through a set of activities that are fun, challenging, and thought-provoking. The cost is $450 which includes accommodations, food, transportation to and from field trips, as well as necessary materials and supplies. The Lillian A Mitchell Memorial Scholarship is now available. This is a $500 scholarship open to seniors who plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college in the fall to study childcare, education, counseling, or another youth related degree. You must have at a 2.5 GPA. The due date is April 29th. See below for an application.

Dora J Beattie IBEA Scholarship is open to students who will pursue a degree in business teacher education. This is a $5000 scholarship available at www.ibea.org. The due date is May 15th.
Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.
