Date request forms for the Homecoming Dance are available in the office. If you are bringing a date to Homecoming who is not a student at Carlyle High School, you must submit a guest form. They must be completed and returned to Ms. Parkinson by September 22nd.
If you are interested in being an MC for Homecoming - there is a sign up sheet outside Room 20.
Any high school student who has engaged in a volunteer activity since Sept. 1, 2014 is eligible to complete the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program Application. The application must be completed on line and submitted by November 3rd. Winners can receive the Presidents Volunteer Service Award. State Honorees can receive $1000 and an all expense paid trip to Washington DC in May. National Honorees can receive $5000 awards. Go to http://spirit.prudential.com to apply.
Interested juniors and seniors can apply for the United States Senate youth Program. Two students from each state are selected to go to Washington DC from march 5th to March 12th to visit the Senate, the House, the Supreme Court, and the Pentagon. All expenses for the selected student will be paid for by the Hearst Foundation. Selected students will also have the opportunity to receive $5000 scholarships. Attention Freshman: If you ordered a yearbook at the junior high last year, they can be picked up in the high school office during lunch or after school.
There are sign up sheets to see representatives from the following colleges and universities: Southeast Missouri State (SEMO), McKendree, SIU-E, U of I Champaign, Quincy, Truman State, University of Southern Indiana, and SIU-C. If you are interested in speaking with any of these, sign up in the office and you will be given a pass to meet with them.
