Technology Corner

  • This news box will keep you abreast of latest technology news at Carlyle CUSD1.  More detailed information can be accessed by clicking HERE.

    • Carlyle School District has upgraded its Internet Connectivity.
    • This has been a 2 year process to acquire a high speed fiber connection in all 3 schools.  Bandwidth will increase in upwards of 10X of what we currently have.
    • This new connectivity does not include a wireless networking solution.  However;
    • this connectivity will allow our district to plan for wireless infrastructure.
    • All stakeholders are encouraged to relay their opinions for future wireless planning.
    • Please connect the technology coordinator or any of the schools to give us feedback for future wireless considerations.
    • Starting in 2015 students will be tested online for state assessment.  PARCC testing is a computer based assessment that will replace ISAT and PSAE testing. 
    • Carlyle will include in its curriculum lessons on Internet Safety.  Please click HERE for information on how to keep your home computer and students safe while using the Internet.
    • All classrooms in the district now iclude LCD hookups to their computers to enhance visual instruction.
    • Below are a few quick links to other areas on our district site.
    • Carlyle CUSD1 is including Google Apps for Education in its technology curriculum.  Begining phases are underway to train staff on its many applications.
