Students thrive when schools and parents work together for educational purposes. The following are ways that parents can help their child work towards academic success from home
SUPPORT REGULAR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE. School staff work hard to ensure that each and every day with our students is productive and meaningful. This means that your child misses a great deal each time they are not present. Make certain that they attend school whenever possible and communicate with us to request daily homework when they cannot be here.
TALK WITH YOUR CHILD ABOUT THEIR DAY AT SCHOOL. This is the most effective way to stay abreast of what is going on at CJHS.
CHECK YOUR CHILD’S PLANNER DAILY. We place a huge emphasis on staying organized and recording assignments in the planner throughout the day. This is meant to be a reminder to students and communication with parents.
MAKE HOMEWORK A PRIORITY. Assigned homework plays an important role within the educational process. Please designate a consistent time and place for homework to be completed with support.
LOG ON TO THE CJHS WEBSITE REGULARLY. In addition to upcoming events and useful resources, teachers maintain individual webpages with classroom announcements and daily homework.
COMMUNICATE WITH TEACHERS. As the two people who are the most interested in your child’s education, you and your child’s teacher must communicate openly and honestly.
Thank you for your attention to these helpful tips. Don’t hesitate to call our office with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to a fantastic year this year!
