Degrees and Certifications:
Hello, I am Ms. Knox. I would like to welcome your son or daughter to my classroom. I’m very enthused about starting my third year at Carlyle Junior High School, and I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students.
I would like to take this opportunity to give you some information about myself. I received my bachelor’s degree in Special Education at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. While in school, I had the privilege of student teaching at Belleville West High School. Before I was hired here, I was previously employed at Sandoval CUSD 501 for four years and that is where I started my teaching career. While I was at Sandoval, I primarily worked with grades seventh thru twelfth.
I was raised in Carlyle and grew up with five older sisters. I have seventeen nieces and nephews which I see on a regular basis. I happy to announce that two of my sisters are expecting this year. I have three dogs, Ty, Destiny and Dandy. I also have a cat named Flame. I enjoy being outdoors and spending time to with family. I volunteer at Clinton County Humane Society where I have the opportunity to help dogs and cats. I am also a foster mother for dogs at CCHS.
I will be teaching Literature and co - teaching with Mr. Huels and Mrs. Eggerman. As your child’s teacher, I want you to know that I value your input as a parent and plan on working as a team to ensure that your child has a successful school year. I plan to guide and mentor all of my students as they continue their educational journey, while filling the days with exciting, challenging, and learning experiences.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns throughout the school year, please contact me. I invite you to look at my web page for additional information about the classroom. I am going to try my best to keep it up to date. I am looking forward to working with you and your family and hope we have a year filled with educational and social growth.
