Ella Rolfingsmeyer and Raylen Harris placed first in the Visual Design competition at the

Illinois State Leadership Conference on March 28 and 29 in Springfield, Ill.

Both Carlyle High School seniors placed first at the Southwestern Area FBLA conference

and earned enough points to advance to the next level with their Visual Design presentation that

showcased their design skills.

As first place winners, they received a medal, plaque, and a ticket to the FBLA National

Leadership Conference, which will be held from June 29 to July 2 in Anaheim, Calif.

This is the second time the seniors have presented at FBLA Nationals. Last summer, they

traveled to Orlando to compete.

Five other students attended the state conference and placed in the top ten.

Kailee Gregg, Abi Brandol, and Aleah Murden placed fifth in Introduction to Business

Presentation. In this event, ninth and tenth grade students deliver a business presentation using a

software program as an aid.

Rachel McDuffey placed ninth in Introduction to Information Technology. During this

event, ninth and tenth grade students take an objective test, which allows them to demonstrate

knowledge around introductory competencies in information technology.

Jacie Persing placed tenth in Public Service Announcement. This event allows students to

create a 30-second video message for the public that raises awareness on a specific issue.
