Good luck to Akeelah Knox and Lera Schmeink tomorrow as they compete in the IHSA Class 1A Girls Track & Field State Semifinals. Lera will be competing in the Long Jump at 10 am. Akeelah will be running in Heat 2 of the 300m Hurdles which will start at 1:27 pm. Lera will run in Heat 4 of the 200m which will start at 2:10. You can see Live Results at the link below.

Life Skills students made brownies and a
dessert today. They walked to Dollar General, priced and purchased needed ingredients, and then baked some delicious brownies and an Oreo dessert.
As its last action of the year, the CHS Student Council donated 2 microwaves to CHS for student use in the cafeteria at lunch. The StuCo worked hard raising money and wanted to end the year by giving something nice to the school.
Carlyle High School would like to thank Keith Rensing and Travis Huels from Country Companies Financial for donating Tacos, chips,and salsa from Guzmans. A great way to start Teacher Appreciation Week!!! They also had a raffle for three $50 gift certificates to Guzmans!!!

Today the Spanish 3 and Life Skills classes teamed up to make guacamole. It was delicious!
Last weekend 6 StuCo members attended the IASC State Convention. The CHS StuCo was recognized for its work and Faith Weaver received a Pillar Award for dedication.
Students in Life Skills class took a trip to Rolling Lawns Farm and The Milk House in Greenville, Illinois. Students learned about the process of getting milk from the farm to retail store front. We got to sample flavored milks, made their own butter, and had some ice cream. It was a fantastic tour with kind, knowledgeable staff. Thank you to all that participated in the doughnut fundraisers that made this trip possible. The students were able to have an experience they won't soon forget.

Congratulations to both Carlyle HS Bass Fishing teams today at Sectionals on Newton Lake! Carlyle placed in 1st & 3rd place 🐟💪🐟Both teams qualified to participate in the HS Bass Fishing state tournament on May 19th @ Carlyle Lake.
Nathan & Adam weighed in at 1st place with 22.25#, and Wyatt and Michael weighed in at 3rd place with 16.84# 🐟💜🐟

Congratulations to the April students of the month: freshman, Mary Ann Brown, sophomore, Makenna Reckling, junior, Katelynn Glasscock, and senior Emma Weick.
Students in Life Skills class participated in Adapted Olympics on Friday at Greenville University. They competed in many different events throughout the day and got to meet Greenville University's mascot and cheerleaders. It was a great day!
