Fall Sports Athletic Recognition Night
On Monday, November 13th at 7:30 PM we will host the fall sports athletic recognition night for all 2023 fall athletes at Carlyle High School. We will recognize athletes in the following sports: soccer, volleyball, football, football cheerleading, boys & girls golf and swimming. We will all meet together at 7:30 PM in Harriss Gymnasium to present special awards. After all special awards are presented, we will break up into groups so each coach can talk in depth about his/her respective season and pass out letters and certificates. All fall athletes and his/her parents are invited and encouraged to attend.
Good luck to CHS Swimmers at the IHSA sectionals at Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center in Edwardsville at 11:30am today. Olivia Jansen will swim the 100-yard breaststroke and the 500-yard freestyle. Liv Abraham will swim the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley.
Today, 13 StuCo officers went to the KDSC fall leadership workshop featuring Heather Schultz. It was awesome!
Last week, Carlyle High School and Central High School FLS classes hosted a Chance to Dance at Bretz Wildlife Lodge and Winery. Students from 10 different districts attended the event. A HUGE thank you to Bretz Lodge, all who donated, all of our adult and student volunteers, and of course all the students who made this event a success! We can't wait for next year!
Biology 2 students are learning about sickle cell anemia and were able to diagnose disease using a gel electrophoresis apparatus. Extra special thanks to the Illinois Retired Teachers Foundation for purchasing the equipment for our science lab.

Today, Life Skills and Spanish 4 students painted the skull ornaments that they made last Friday for the Day of the Dead
Today, Spanish 3 and Life Skills students worked together to make dough for pan de muerto, a bread made specifically for the Mexican Day of the Dead.
Ms.Brinkmann visited our Life Skills class today to help students use geometry and science skills to solve the mystery of the missing pumpkin. They deciphered an invisible ink message. Then questioned staff to figure out who took the class pumpkin. (Ms.Heather Taylor was the guilty party.)After they solved the mystery they made hot dog mummies. Thanks

Breakfast on Sunday, October 15th at the KC Hall will benefit CHS Parent Boosters. π₯ππ³ π They will be serving up all you can eat pancakes, sausage, eggs, and hash brown potatoes!
